As we prepare for upcoming bargaining, the OPSEU 365 Bargaining Team launched a workplace culture survey. Due to the confidential nature of the bargaining cycle, the survey may have been sent to your personal email. If OPSEU 365 does not have your personal email or current contact information, please email opseu@trentu.ca to update. Your feedback is crucial in shaping our negotiation strategies and making sure to address the issues that matter most to you. Please take the time to complete the survey by Feb. 9th 2025 and help create a better more inclusive workplace for everyone.

CUPE 3205 represents the chefs, cooks, bakers and other food service workers at Trent University employed by Compass. We get to know and appreciate these friendly and hardworking members of the Trent community over a cup of coffee or a quick lunch stop on campus. Although the cost of living has skyrocketed, their wages have not kept up. Making little more than minimum wage, battling high turn over and disrespect. Their collective agreement expired last Sept. 2024. They are working hard to negotiate improved wages and working conditions with their employer. As members of OPSEU 365 we can support the members of CUPE 3205 by wearing the I <3 Trent Food Service Workers button, posting their pamphlet in our work space and speaking up in solidarity with the members themselves…

Carrie, responsible for navigating the program with OPSEU 365 participants will go over the process and timeline. Join the Executive, Stewards and fellow OPSEU 365 members for a coffee break in the Lady Eaton Collage Pit (LEC 206). On Wed. Nov. 6th from 10 to 11am enjoy refreshments and conversation with your colleagues.

Educate! Activate! Celebrate! Pride Week is Sept. 20th to 29th. Join OPSEU 365 and CUPE 3908 to march in the Pride Parade Saturday September 28th at 2pm. The parade starts at City Hall, 500 George St. Pre-parade gathers at 1:30pm. From there we will march approximately 1km down George st. to Millennium Park to the Pride in the Park Event.

Trent University’s 59th annual campaign launches next week on Monday, September 23. The United Way Ambassador team has set two goals this year: raise $120,000 and inspire 15 new donors to join the campaign. These goals are as ambitious as they are impactful. Save the Date – Kick-Off BBQ!Wed. September 25th. 11:30am to 1pm at the Upper Bata Podium. $10 to Dine and make a difference! OPSEU members are invited to the campaign kick-off lunch, courtesy of Trent Food Services. Enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, or veggie options served by Trent's celebrity servers while supporting a great cause!
